This trip also lends itself to a wonderful overnight stay in Toubakuta, this will enable you to visit the craft market, and observe the many different species of bird flying in and out the surrounding large Baobab Trees, also you can visit Cockle Shell Mountain, shells reaching up to 5 meters high.
1/ Breakfast at Jinack Lodge 8:30.
2/ Take a 20-minute donkey and cart ride though the village of Kajjata, until you reach the mangroves on the opposite of the island.
3/ Take a small canoe/boat to the other side of the bolong.
4/ Traveling through the bush via 4x4 we take a 45 min drive to the main town of Barra, spotting Red Colobus, and the Green Pathos monkeys, as we drive through ‘Numi National Park’
5/ Using the North Bank Road from Barra, we take a 1-hour journey to the safari park, passing small remote compounds and villages, along the way.
6/ Take a 2-hour guided tour around the safari park.
7/ Lunch is taken at the European/African Restaurant in the park.
8/ On our return we stop of at Senegalese Craft Market, to pick up some last minute gifts.
This is optional, and we can after lunch return directly to the Lodge.
9/Arrive back at the lodge 3:00 – 4:00
